Haffty Youth Development Programs

SYFS operates unique, specialized programming and services for youth throughout the year. Many of these programs are designed to build skills, provide opportunities for personal growth, and foster healthy relationships.

The transition from elementary school to middle school is a dramatic one. Fourth grade girls have lots on their minds: fear of losing old friendships and making new ones, navigating peer pressure and bullying, and worrying about fitting in and new academic pressures. At LeadHERship, girls will learn how to strengthen their self- confidence, manage emotions, and communicate better with friends and family members. There will be plenty of practice in decision making and problem solving too! They will learn how being healthy will help them become the person they are meant to be. They will practice growth mindset, setting goals and thinking about ways to make the most of themselves!

Cost is $150 per session and classes are held at the First Congregational Church in Shrewsbury.

Be the girl who fixes another girl’s crown without telling the world that it was CROOKED!

Harry Potter and the Enchanters Program

Welcome to Harry Potter and the Enchanters Camp, a program for kids who want
to learn about mental health and have a love for the Harry Potter series written by
J.K. Rowling. Throughout the Harry Potter books and movie series, the main
character Harry Potter expresses negative emotions and identifies tools along the
way to help him manage those feelings. This program will allow children to learn
about mental health, identify tools and coping skills to help manage fears and
worries, challenge negative thoughts and identify positive thinking, and explore
hopes and dreams for the future. The program will also include fun activities such
as sorting kids in their own Hogwarts house, creating wands, and participating in
team building exercises.

This program will run Monday-Thursday, 10:00-2:00 PM at the First Congregational Church in Shrewsbury and welcomes children ages 9-11.

Session 1:  July 11-14, 2022

Session 2:  July 18-21, 2022
